28 Days of Reggae – Sly & Robbie

Sly & RobbieThese two have been contributing to reggae’s portfolio of memorable hits since ‘Skippy was a puppy.’  The prolific producers have been an integral part of almost a quarter of a million recordings, predominantly on their Taxi Records label.

From One-Drop to Rockers to Rub-a-Dub, the dynamic duo have 8 million stories to tell as they’ve been on the front lines of watching this thing called reggae be born, evolve, and mature into what it is now – universal.

You know that notable guitar riff on Chaka Demus and Pliers’ Murder She Wrote, the one that as soon as you hear it, it takes you back to that summer in the 90s? Yep, that was them. They even covered the Cool Ruler’s Night Nurse with UK band, Simply Red.  And if that’s not enough for international collabs, they’ve also done work with Sir Paul McCartney, Britney Spears (no that is not a typo), Italian rapper Jovanotti and Ecuadorian artist Cecilia Eljuri.

Need the DNB remix? Yeah, why not – after all, its almost Valentine’s Day. Here it is. #PlayObscenelyLoud
